A solo exhibition dedicated to the artist and pioneer of militant ecological painting, Nicole King, will be presented at the Cloître des Récollets.
The exhibition, in conjunction with the Fête de l’eau on September 3 and 4, 2023, will focus on freshwater. Some fifty works have been selected and will be presented in the large chapter house and the ambulatory area of the cloister to resonate, through their thematic correspondences, with this Mecca of ecology.
Located in the heart of Metz, the Cloître des Récollets is a former convent dating back to the 13th century. In 1972, biologist and writer Jean-Marie Pelt founded the European Institute of Ecology, which is still located here.
Today, the Récollets brings together associations and institutions working together to tackle the challenges of sustainable development, the fight against climate change and the transition to energy, ecology and solidarity.
